What do I have to do before class?

 

eLearning - Completed at your own pace, prior to the face-to-face training sessions. 

eLearning will require internet access.

eLearning consists of learning materials and multiple choice questions

It takes most students between 1-2 hours, depending on your internet connection and prior knowlege.

You can do this on your phone, but you will need to use the landscape view.

It is easier to do it on a bigger device where possible.

You can log in, and out on any device

How long is this class?

 

Face-to-face practical assessment takes 60 min

What do I have to do in class?​

  • Perform the recovery position

  • Perform CPR on an adult on the floor (incl. the use of an AED,)

  • Perform CPR on an infant

  • Use a training EpiPen for anaphylaxis

  • Practise asthma puffers with a spacer

  • Clean and dress minor wounds

  • Treat major and minor bleeding and nosebleeds

  • Manage choking with back blows

  • Apply bandages for sprains, fractures & snake bites

  • Use slings, splints, and immobilisation techniques

  • Recognise and respond to shock

Entry Requirements

Students must have the physical capacity to perform the practical demonstrations, such as 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on the floor and performing rescue breathing techniques on manikins.  

A Unique Student Identifier (USI) Number. This is required prior to enrolments being processed. You will be guided through this in your enrollement.

Hold a current HLTAID011 + HLTAID009  Statement of Attainment ( or has expired in the last 3 months)
