🧭What I designed after doing the Kokoda Track... As I was walking along mountain ridges above the clouds, I found myself thinking about the blister bandaids and the antiseptics that the tour company told us to pack. Literally of the grid, it became super obvious that if something serious occurred, no-one was actually carrying any trauma stuff for heavy bleeds and things like that. Now I will not minimise the importance of foot care required for those kind of trips, but a blister is the least of your worries, should you fall and suffer blunt force trauma etc, hours from any kind of professional trauma response. So that is why I built the IFAK Hike first aid kit-for remote and isolated emergencies where time and distance are you enemy. PS-this was filmed by my partner Dan @ Bouddi National Park on the Central Coast NSW.

😖This is what a marketing budget of zero looks like. Our product is exceptional. Our marketing budget is not. So we make our own content. And it takes its toll. This one was shot at Ponto Falls. Gorgeous spot. Also full of cattle. We couldn't take a step or put a prop down without something landing in poop. The smell was next level. By the end the light was going, we were both cooked, and quietly wishing for a team of creators who knew exactly what we needed — and would do it for free. If kids have the skills to handle something this serious, I personally believe it helps them cope with the trauma, versus the memory of not knowing what to do, and not doing anything. .. and they might need to do it on you!#cpr #kids

🥱Toxic ex still in my DMs needing first aid advice 🙄 the audacity is unmatched. So here is a vital life skill lesson on how to dress a cut finger...its truly captivating, with a little treat at the end..On a real note... these dressings are actually good for finger tip injuries, cracked skin, cuts and burns . Fingertips have tonnes of nerves, so even a tiny injury can be super painful and distracting, especially if you are on the tools. They stay put and let you get on with things while you are at work. #toxic #firstaid

🌶️🌶️Part 2. Bites and stings in Australia that required hot water as first aid therapy. We use hot water, poured over the bite or sting site to help with pain relief. The water should be tested first, to see if the patient can tolerate. We always call 000 in Australia, if we have severe sypmtoms, like difficulty breathing, loss of consciousness and anaphylactic reactions. A great way to keep hot water available is to keep a 2l water bottle, filled, on the dash of your car. It will get pretty warm on a Aussie summer day, and be perfect for treating fish stings. These are notoriously painful. Final tip. Rememeber that kids with neurodivergence will potentially have amplified responses that need extra patience and understanding. Consider using headphones, sensory toys or other distraction techniques that you know you child will respond too. #portugesemanowar #bluebottle #stonefish #bullrout

We always take additional precautions when we recognise symptoms of anaphylaxis, the victom is a baby, elderly, has additional medical issues that may impact the reaction to bites and stings that are not usually fatal.
